What made my stay was the young man who tirelessly worked the morning buffet ( his name escapes me but it started with a C or K) He set the tone of the stay. Friendly, always greeting everyone, consistently helpful with local suggestions and conversation. He deserves a raise and praise.
Inconsistent service. Also they put my group that has 16 kids next to a meditation group. I've never seen a meditation group get angry, but they were not happy and continually asked us to be quiet. It was uncomfortable to say the least.
My stay at the DoubleTree in Beverton, Oregon was amazing. Greeted as soon as we walked in with a warm welcome and a warm cookie! The gentleman behind the counter kept me wondering if I had met him somewhere before. We stayed in room 436, everything was clean and in its place.
When I tried to make my reservation over a the phone their end was very difficult to hear and understand. They neglected to inform that they charge more than the quoted amount stated to my MasterCard for in-house charging, which is refunded around and up to 3-5 business days later. However, aside from these initial negative aspects. The place is nicely kept. It's clean and accommodating. The staff were polite, respectful and attentative. The location is right off the exit and easy to maneuver into and out of for those arriving and leaving. The location has the additions of a bar, exercise room, as well as a pool and spa. There is a gas station across the street and it's location is near many places for entertainment or additional activities.
Absolutely the best place we have stayed in many years. Our daughter was getting married in Portland and every employee bent over backwards to make our stay very pleasant. The employees are the best ever from the front desk to the restaurant to the mades. Very clean and quiet. Thanks again for making are trip memorable.
